Equal Heart is a 501(c)3 nonprofit currently focused on alleviating hunger and supporting community nonprofits in their own mission.

Our Vision is that misfortune is overcome through shared response, because the humanity and courage in each individual is recognized.

Path

Our Path is to always recognize that each person, no matter their circumstances of birth or fortune, is created equal. That in our hearts we all have the same dreams, aspirations and hopes. For ourselves and for our children.

AmeriCorps

We have two AmeriCorps grants that allows us to support organizations across the country. We annually place 595 AmeriCorps members across 12 states.

Mobile

The same forces that restrict a person's ability to feed their children also constrains their ability to access services. To combat this, Equal Heart operates a Mobile Food Pantry providing year-round support to families in the Dallas area.

Child Nutrition

Equal Heart operates a mobile Summer meals program providing daily support to 1,000 children.

Founded

Equal Heart was founded in 2014 and hired the first paid staff member in March 2015. By August 2015, we operated the largest non-profit SFSP program in Texas.

Roots

The first programs focused on mobile programs for both adults and children. With early support from UW Groundfloor we kicked off our mobile food pantry in October 2015 that continues to deliver healthy food to over 4,000 families.

National

Equal Heart currently operates AmeriCorps related programming in 12 states. Our future is our past: we continue to seek ways to scale innovation to increase support for the most vulnerable.

Hunger

Equal Heart directly operates a mobile meals program that annually provide 1.6 million pounds of bulk food for 5,000+ families in the Dallas area. We also support 15 other hunger focused non-profits through AmeriCorps.

Environment

A large portion of bulk food resources come from surplus food stock. Food that is destined for the landfill until we divert it to feed families. Reclaiming close to 900,000 pounds of food reduces hunger and helps the environment.
